SATURDAY MAY 27, 2017 10AM-11PM

My Dear Brothers and Sister of St. Demetrios,

On Saturday May 27th, we are hosting a one day festival to meet our current expenses of a new roof and crumbling brick repairs. These are items NOT in our budget but the result of years of wear and tear and neglect. These are necessary and NOT cosmetic repairs. While many have given generously to help defray these cost, not all have or are able.

However, all are able to help with the ONE DAY FESTIVAL we are hosting on MAY 27th. We need you, your family members and relatives to come help us, ON this ONE day. The proceeds of this festival keep our church open and in good repair.

This year we are partnering with the City of Perth Amboy for a joint day of Perth Amboy Art show and LIVE 5 HOUR MULTIPLE band performances right in front of our church. We expect record crowds. We may have more people on our property than ever before. YOUR HELP IS CRITICALLY NEED TO SERVICE THE LARGER THAN EXPECTED CROWDS.

Parking in the lot will be limited ONLY TO WORKERS WHO HAVE PREREGISTERED WITH THE CHURCH OFFICE TO WORK THAT DAY. We need people for many different job and hours so please call the church and register your help today.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE THIS THE MOST SUCCESSFULLY FINANCIAL FESTIVAL EVER.

“Tokens of Honor for our King”

Our Sunday School students prepared “Tokens of Honor for our King”. This is a tradition in our culture which will be practiced by our Orthodox children and their families  as a life-long custom to “Honor our King” on Palm Sunday.  Our children were excited and eager to learn the procedures of making Palm Crosses by the older children teaching the younger ones in addition to the guidance of our dedicated Sunday School teachers. After being blessed during our Palm Sunday Divine Liturgy, Father George will present each child with his/her personalized Palm Cross to be taken home as a daily remembrance of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.
