Community Celebrations – Sunday, June 8, 2025

Sunday, June 8, 2025, was a truly special day at St. Demetrios as we celebrated Holy Pentecost and honored the many blessings in our parish.

We witnessed the Affirmation of Office for our Philoptochos Board, recognized our Sunday School and Greek School students and graduates, honored our dedicated teachers, and presented year-end awards.

The day was bittersweet as we also celebrated Father Philotheos during his final service with us. On behalf of the community, Parish Council President, George Kane, presented him with a plaque as a reminder of the love and memories from his first parish, St. Demetrios Perth Amboy.

During the luncheon that followed, the children of St. Demetrios offered their own touching presentation, sharing words of love and thanks that moved us all.

Father Philotheos, you will be deeply missed. We wish you the very best in your next chapter and may God bless you always.

As we approach the end of the school year, we invite you and your family to be part of a very special Sunday at St. Demetrios.

Sunday, June 8 – Holy Pentecost
8:15 AM – Orthros
9:30 AM – Divine Liturgy & Great Vespers of Pentecost

Please note that services will begin early.

This will also be Father Philotheos’ last service with St. Demetrios. We hope you’ll join us as we come together to thank him for his faithful service, spiritual leadership, and the love he has shown our community.

Following the Divine Liturgy, we will also celebrate:

  • Philoptochos Affirmation of Office

  • Greek School Graduation

  • Sunday School Graduation

It will be a beautiful and meaningful day filled with faith, gratitude, and community. We look forward to seeing you there.

Greek Festival by the Bay – May 30 – June 1, 2025

Dear Parishioners,

Our annual festival is just around the corner, and we’re excited to come together as a community to celebrate! Come for a weekend filled with delicious Greek food, lively music, traditional dances, and family fun by the bay.

General Assembly – Sunday, May 18, 2025

Dear Parishioners,

As previously announced, our General Assembly was scheduled for May 4, 2025. However, due to the lack of a quorum, and in accordance with our by-laws, a new meeting must be held within two weeks.

We invite all parishioners to attend the rescheduled General Assembly meeting on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, immediately following the Divine Liturgy.

The minutes from the last General Assembly (held on November 10, 2024) were emailed and will be available for review at the meeting.

Your presence and participation are vital to the life and future of our parish.
